Our achievments

Through partnerships with national authorities, municipalities, and international organizations, ALMEE has played a leading role in shaping Lebanon’s energy and environmental landscape. Key accomplishments include:

Developing Lebanon’s Thermal Regulation for Buildings (TSBL 2010) and the TSBC tool with the Order of Engineers and Architects.

Creating the GRASSMed Green Building Rating System (Green Recovery And Sustainable Solutions for the Mediterranean Region) and its open E-Learning platform GREEN BOOCC, offering online training and certification on green building practices.

Producing national energy and GHG databases, CO₂ emission indicators, and baseline inventories to support policy and reporting.

Publishing technical guides for municipalities on energy efficiency, climate adaptation, and sustainable public infrastructure.
Leading and contributing to national and international initiatives on renewable energy, waste management, energy auditing, and energy efficiency.

Our Network & Partners

ALMEE collaborates with numerous national and international partners, including:

ADEME (France) • UNDPUNEPUNIDOWorld BankIEAUNESCOCRES (Athens) • IMEDER (France) • MIO-ECSDE (Athens) • FFEM (France) and others.

We are a founding member of MEDENER, the Mediterranean Association of National Agencies for Energy Management, which unites regional actors around energy efficiency and renewable energy as key drivers of the energy transition.

ALMEE is also an active member of GlobalABC, contributing to the Energy Sufficiency Hub and the Climate Adaptation Hub.

Our Commitment

Beyond its technical work, ALMEE is deeply engaged in public awareness, education, and capacity building.

The association regularly publishes bulletins, guides, and newsletters, organizes workshops, and delivers training for engineers, students, municipalities, and professionals.

Our goal is simple yet transformative:
“To empower people, institutions, and communities to take meaningful climate action, adopt sustainable practices, and contribute to a more resilient and environmentally conscious Lebanon.”

Looking Ahead

As environmental challenges intensify globally, ALMEE continues to serve as a catalyst for change — promoting innovation, cooperation, and evidence-based solutions for a greener future.
Through science, education, and collaboration, we are working every day to ensure that energy efficiency, renewable energy, and environmental responsibility become the foundation of Lebanon’s sustainable development.
